When buying a home what is "Pending Status"?

Pending status is basically the time period after the option period all the way up until closing...during pending status all terms are set and negotiations have ended. The property is no longer active or available to other home buyers at this point while under pending status. Once the agreed upon option period ends the transaction has reached pending status and your option to negotiate anything as a buyer terminates and your earnest money is now in jeopardy according to the terms of the contract.
